About The Social Collectives

About Us

“It‘s the friends we meet along the way that makes us appreciate the journey.”

Who We Are

The Social Collectives creates opportunities for driven, ambitious professionals to connect and grow their businesses together. We set the stage for authentic networking where our community shares insights, forges meaningful partnerships, and builds relationships that lead to real success.

As community organizers, we facilitate spaces where small businesses can thrive together, making a difference in our communities and creating a better future for all.

The Social Collectives Story

The Social Collective began from something deeply personal: a need to protect small-business owners, creators, and friends from the pain caused by negativity online.

When founder Lisa Adams started the collective, she had seen how inaccurate and hurtful comments on social media could spread and become nearly impossible to correct. A single negative post about a local business could reach thousands of people, pushed further by algorithms.

One close friend, a local business owner who was deeply involved in her community, would sometimes message Lisa for help when online criticism turned cruel. Lisa would comment, "That was not my experience with this company," because it was true. The friend ran an award-winning small business, cared for every client, and showed up for her community every single day. But even that dedication did not shield her from harsh judgment.

Lisa saw how social media made it easy to forget the people behind the businesses: the tired parents staying up late to answer customer messages, the small restaurant owners sponsoring community events, and the tradespeople hiring neighborhood kids.

Then tragically, the friend Lisa defended online passed away from cancer. Few people knew what she was going through privately, even as she continued to run her business and care for her customers. Yet she was still criticized publicly for small mistakes.

Out of that grief came a mission: to create a space where small businesses and local creators could be seen as whole people. The Social Collective works to bring grace and humanity back to how we engage online. It exists to uplift small businesses, celebrate the people behind them, and create a community where we can all thrive together.
